The Bakhrushin Theatre Museum was founded on 29 October 1894 by the prominent Moscow industrialist and patron of the arts Alexey Bakhrushin (1865–1929). Today, the museum's collection comprises more than 1.5 million items. The holdings include sketches of costumes and scenery created by master scenographers, photos and portraits, stage costumes of legendary actors, playbills and programs, rare editions of theatrical art, decorative art objects, and many other items.
